What former participants have to say

Fujisan In addition to providing language education on a periodical basis, Kisako specializes in designing Japanese immersion courses customized to each student's needs. If you are thinking about participating in an intensive course, short-term Japanese immersion course, Kisako is the right place for you.

Here's what former participants have to say:

"When I first arrived in Japan, I could not understand anything. When I left, it was as if a new world had been opened to me. The teachers at Kisako are wonderful and not only teach you to speak Japanese but also to understand the Japanese culture. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is serious about speaking Japanese."

-- Nancy Smithers, Canada, 2006

"I’m writing to say how pleased I was with the language program I participated in while I was in Japan. All of my teachers were very nice and helpful; the things I learned definitely helped me get around the city and improve my Japanese. I’m glad I was able to take part in such a useful program while I was there. My lessons were enjoyable and I got a lot out of them. When it was over, I was sad to say goodbye.

And, here’s a letter from Natalie’s mother, Ms. Kathy Harriman:

Dear Ms. Sakai:

I am writing this letter as a recommendation for your wonderful language program. This summer my 15 year old daughter was traveling to Japan by herself, and I was desperate to find language lessons for her. I wrote to many schools, but no school was able to accommodate my unique needs. Your school stood out from all of the other responses. You were thoughtful, flexible and extremely accommodating.

These are some of the ways in which you helped to relieve my anxiety and make the language lessons a wonderful experience for my daughter:

1. I informed you that my daughter was bad with directions and might not be able to find your school the first day. You arranged to have a teen-age girl her age meet her and bring her to the school.

2. I was afraid my daughter would get lonely. You arranged to have the same teen-ager meet with her after her lesson every day, have lunch, and show her around Tokyo while practicing Japanese.

3. Her time was going to be split up between Tokyo and Kyoto. You arranged to continue lessons when she returned to Tokyo.

4. She left Tokyo earlier than expected. You refunded all of the money for any lessons that weren’t applied.

Thank you so much for all that you did for my daughter and me. I will most definitely contact you again if she returns to Tokyo. Also, please feel free to use me as a reference if the need arises.
